About Mililani High School FIRST Robotics
FIRST Robotics at Mililani High School saw its inception in the 2001-2002 school year. It lasted for three years and all the staff involved with the first iteration of the program retired within the next five years. The school saw a revival of FIRST robotics in the 2008-2009 school year, but following that year, was threatened with another shutdown due to the loss of its advisor.
While our organization has only been able to experience small glimpses of success (one formal FRC award and several elimination round appearances), there is reason to believe a consistently strong team can be built. Our program has had a major impact on the lives of the students that have participated and continues to grow its presence in the community.
There is something for anyone and everyone in FIRST, regardless of age, interests, or experience. Our dream is to use this as a way to prepare a larger population of Mililani High School students for the next level through a unique, real-world experience that practices many skills not seen in the vast majority of high school competitions.
